Maria Kaushansky is a Russian-Canadian pianist residing in New York City. Born in Kovrov, Russia, Maria grew up in Toronto, Canada. She is a classically-trained pianist and holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Toronto. Maria moved to NYC in 2015. As a bandleader, she has held steady residencies at venues including Back Bar at Eventi Hotel, NYC’s historic Gotham Restaurant, CUT by Wolfgang Puck, Adalya Restaurant, IVY Room, Sweet Afton, and Le Petit Parisien Supper Club, among other venues. In addition to performing, Maria is an accompanist for ballet dancers. She is currently an accompanist at The Juilliard School, Steps on Broadway, School of American Ballet, and Youth America Grand Prix. In December 2024, she recorded her debut album, “Northbound to Finch”, with Paul Gill on bass and the late Anthony Pinciotti on drums. It is set to be released this fall. She will also release a companion album for ballet class. Maria is very excited and grateful for the opportunity to perform at Saint Peter’s Church for the first time!
