About Joe Fonda
Joe Fonda is an accomplished international jazz artist. He performed throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia both as a leader and as a side man. He has collaborated and performed with such artists as Anthony Braxton, Wadada Leo Smith, Billy Bang, Barry Altschul, Bill Baron, Mark White Cage, Perry Roberson, Archie Shepherd, Steve Macraven, Rabdy Weston. Tap Dancer Brenda Bufalino. Fonda was the bassist with the renowned Anthony Braxton Quartet, Sextet, Tete, and Tri Centric Orchestra from 1984 through 2000. Fonda was the bassist for Brend Bufalino and the American Tap Dance Orchestra from 2001 through 2020. As a composer, Fonda has received grants from New England Foundation on the Arts, Meet the Composer, Jazz Foundation of New York City, South Arts, New York State Commission on the Arts, and Chamber Music America. As producer, Fonda has curated the Conn. Composers and Improvisors festival from 2005 to 2022 . Fonda has produced over 15 recordings under his name and has recorded over 55 CDs or LPs as a collective member or side man for many well-known ensembles. As of date, Fonda Tours both the U.S. and Europe regularly with Pianiat Satoko Fujii, Conference Call, Barry Altschul, and 3 Dom Factory.
