This latest run of shows at Nook features an emphasis on Coffee House-style acoustic performances of songs- stripping songs to their core with the help of some ethereal and ambient layers via loop machine, drum machines, vocal harmonies, and more. I am attempting to take part in a redefining of stripped-down music as our tolerance for sophisticated production techniques grows. I appreciate a good song stripped down to its essential melody and chords-defining only its harmonic structure. However, I often miss the emotional effects production techniques like backup vocals, hard vocal tuning, synth bass, atmospheric reverb, and guitar layers. This setlist will be specifically crafted for Nook’s space and I look forward to exploring just how much is necessary to convey a song in 2024.
