Concert of Metamorphic Winds Band
The Metamorphic Winds woodwind ensemble will celebrate Juneteenth with a concert on Wednesday, June 19 on the library’s front plaza. In case of rain, the concert will be in the library’s Mackay Room. The program is free and open to the public.
The all-female wind ensemble will help celebrate Juneteenth by featuring music by African American composers. Metamorphic Winds is comprised of Christine MacDonnell, Mikki Ryan, Erika Friedman, and Tessa Dolce.
Metamorphic Winds was formed in 2004 to perform all genres of chamber music in styles ranging from classical to jazz to light pop. Their members perform in the pit orchestras of Broadway theaters as well as area orchestras and chamber ensembles. They have performed all over the New York tri-state area in venues as diverse as The Festival of the Arts in Nyack, NY, Bell Works in Holmdel, NJ, or the Sousa Bandshell in NY.
