Mambo y Romo Bachata Concert featuring Grupo Aurora

“We will be playing original music plus all the traditional and urban/sensual hits.”

Amargue Moderno

Bio

Grupo Aurora is an energizing band from New York City whose goal is to revitalize the Bachata music scene through creativity, soul, and showmanship. Their sound fuses the soul and bitterness of traditional Bachata with modern production.

They formed in 2015 as a group of local New Yorkers who simply wanted to bond over their love of Bachata. Over time they started to record songs of their own and decided to share them with the world.

In 2018, they released Dime Si Volverás, their first collaboration with Dominican Producer Neutro Evans, implementing Dub-step inspired synth sounds and pulsating kick drums. This kicked off a series of performances all around New York City, at local festivals and in residencies at local bars and clubs.

In 2019, they continued this partnership to then create Trap-inspired Bachata in Mi Peor Castigo. That summer, Grupo Aurora performed in the Puerto Rican Festival in Bristol, PA in addition to the monthly residency at Harlem Nights and then a Weekly Residency at Verlaine.

In 2020, Grupo Aurora had grown a big following in New York City because of their energetic performances but the Covid-19 pandemic put a stop to it. So they released Te Alejas de Mí and Dónde Estarás featuring Jack Marcin Wisniewski, as a thank you to their supporters, the latter of which has gone on to be Grupo Aurora’s most successful track to date. Grupo Aurora describes their identity and creative goal as “Amargue Moderno”, aiming to elevate Bachata to new heights.
