In the 80’s Margret Avery did her first performance as a singer in NYC and her love affair began with entertaining, and continues to grow. Since then Margret has gone on to write some of her songs, keeping an audience spellbound while expressing some thought-provoking material, as well as some classic jazz and blues, pop-rock, and ballads.

While in Paris, some years ago, Margret had the pleasure of singing with Duke Jordan in an impromptu performance that compelled her to keep singing. So, she did, and then she graced the stages in New York such as Irving Plaza, The Duplex, Danny’s Skylight Room, 88’s, The Supper Club, The China Club, Moscow57, and Kavehaz, The West End Lounge, The Mist, and The Gershwin Hotel to name a few.

In 2002 Margret released her first CD which is a combination of original material as well as blues and jazz ballads. Many find her interpretations to be soulful, laced with her phrasing in each song.

Margret released a new single in 2012 titled ‘No Dance Without You’ working with the producers of Evo Music, David Andronico and Peter Macchia.

In 2023 Margret released a song she co-wrote with Miranda Glory titled ‘Left Behind’ and then created a music video with Bill Westmoreland who was the director and videographer.
