Concert Classical Music “Choral Works”

If you are looking for a way to enjoy some classical choral music in New York City, you might want to check out the concert by the Angelica Women’s Chamber Choir, and Marie Caruso, on Sunday, December 17, 2023. This concert will feature a variety of choral works from different periods and regions, ranging from medieval carols and chants to contemporary compositions.

The program for the concert will include:

  • Medieval carols and chants of the season, such as “Veni, veni Emmanuel”, and O magnum mysterium”.
  • Rarely heard pieces by Renaissance composers “Leonora d’Este” and Agostino Agazzari”, who were both associated with the court of Ferrara in Italy.
  • -Two strikingly different settings of Angelus ad Pastores Ait” — one by Sulpitia Cesis” (1619), a nun and composer from Modena, and the other by David Burks (2010), a modern American composer and conductor.
  • -Other compositions by contemporary composers, such as Abbie Betinis”, “Joan Szymko”, and Gwyneth Walker”.

The concert by the Angelica Women’s Chamber Choir; and Marie Caruso, director, will be a wonderful opportunity to hear some of the best choral works in a stunning setting.
