Hot Jazz Harlem Concert with Dandy Wellington and His Band
An afternoon of picnicking & Hot Jazz with the Dandy Wellington Band at the Morris-Jumel Mansion
We invite you to stretch out on the Morris-Jumel Mansion lawn in Harlem for an afternoon of picnicking, Hot Jazz, and entertainment curated by bandleader Dandy Wellington and in partnership with Harlem One Stop.
Event Details: This event is free and open to the public, with reservations required. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be postponed to Sunday, July 10th. A limited number of chairs are available, and guests are recommended to bring their own blankets for seating. Guests are also encouraged to bring their own picnics with non-alcoholic beverages. The concert will end promptly at 7:00 pm with the Park closing at 7:15 pm.
Health and Safety Guidelines: All concert-goers should distance themselves from other groups socially. Masks are required in order to enter the museum for restroom access. These regulations are in effect regardless of prior vaccination status, as per Morris-Jumel Mansion programming guidelines.
About the Venue: Morris-Jumel Mansion is the oldest remaining house in Manhattan. Situated in beautiful Roger Morris Park, the museum regularly hosts outdoor summer concerts and other events designed to bring our community together to enjoy nature, the arts, and our shared history. Our location, across the street from historic apartment building 555 Edgecombe Avenue, (also known as the “Triple Nickel”) is particularly appropriate for a celebration of music. It was home to artists like Count Basie, singer and actor Paul Robeson, and vocalists Cassandra Wilson and Tulani Kinard (Sweet Honey in the Rock).
