NOVUS NY Renewal Concert: Mending a Broken System
Quartet for the End of Time, written by French composer Olivier Messiaen while he was interned as a German prisoner of war in 1940, rests at the heart of this season’s Renewal series— concerts that will consider the issues of prison reform, the climate crisis, and immigration.
Presented by NOVUS NY, this Renewal concert on October 15, at 3 pm, in Trinity Church includes works and world premieres by current and formerly incarcerated composers from Sing Sing Correctional Facility, as well as Olivier Messiaen’s Louange à l’Éternité de Jésus from Quartet for the End of Time.
Please join us for a pre-concert conversation with featured artist Kenyatta Emmanuel and NOVUS NY’s Brad Balliett at 2:45 pm. Doors open at 2:30 pm. This concert is free and registration is required. Seating will be first come, first served.
