Concert “After a Reading of Bach: the Challenge of Solo Violin”

Marina Chiche will guide us through a selection of movements from the Sonatas & Partitas by Johann Sebastian Bach and reveal the compositional and instrumental challenges of the solo violin repertoire.

Introduced to the public by the “Victoires of Classical Music” TV show and through her album releases, French violinist Marina Chiche pursues an international career that leads her to perform as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles at the most prestigious concert halls, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Théâtre des Champs Elysées, and the National Concert Hall in Beijing. An artist committed to her time, she uses her book Legendary Women Musicians (First/Radio France editions) and her radio appearances on France Inter to make classical music accessible to the widest possible audience. Distinguished among the “100 Women of Culture” in 2022 and named an ambassador of the French Touch movement, Marina Chiche is among the most important figures in French music today who makes culture shine beyond borders. She is a resident of the Villa Albertine in 2023.

This event is co-sponsored by the Maison Française and Alliance Program.
