One Love, One Mic & The Grand Street Settlement Present — Open Mic Showcase

The Grand Street Settlement in collaboration with One Love, One Mic is hosting their first Open Mic Showcase.
The purpose is to create awareness of community resources that under utilized but accessible. Equity is not only equal opportunity but accessibility. We welcome all artist to participate in the Open Mic series and pour into a community that has been pivotal to nurturing growth and resources to those who are undeserved and under represented.
The Open Mic will have 10 open slots for those who would like to sign up and perform.
The showcase will be filled with 10 amazing artist from all boroughs and different mediums.
We will have 3 amazing features that will provide us with an accelerating experience and encompass the community and the individuals that it nurtures.
Features:
Bonafide Rojas is the author of four collections of poetry: Notes On The Return To The Island (2017), Renovatio (2014), When The City Sleeps (2012) & Pelo Bueno (2004). He is a Letra Boricuas Fellow, has appeared on Def Poetry Jam & has been published in numerous anthologies & journals. His deep love for music pushed him to create his band THE MONA PASSAGE, a rock outfit that is another extension of his poetry. He’s performed at Lincoln Center, The Brooklyn Museum, El Museo Del Barrio, Bowery Ballroom, Philadelphia Museum Of Art, Rotterdam Arts Center, Konvent Zero Barcelona, Latinale Berlin, Hafen Lesung Hamburg, Festival Kerouac Vigo & Festival De La Palabra Puerto Rico. He’s mad Puerto Rican & only wears red socks.
