Born and raised in Puerto Rico and based in the Bronx, Grammy-winning bassist/composer/arranger John Benitez has led an accomplished career, working with major artists in a range of styles from Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri, and Batacumbele to Wynton Marsalis, Chucho Valdés and Roy Hargrove. For this concert, he leads his Latin jazz sextet. In partnership with the Jazz Foundation of America.
