It has been a quarter of a century since Mikel Urdangarin took his first steps into his journey as a musician. To celebrate this anniversary, he has announced “25 Tour”, a worldwide expedition in pursuit of one of his oldest dreams: sharing his music beyond Basque frontier.

So on May 8th, at St. Clements Theater, Mikel Urgangarin will delight New York City with his music. At this event, special guests Rafa Rueda (electric guitar) and Ander Hurtado de Saratxo (percussion), will accompany Mikel Urdangarin (voice and acoustic guitar). The three artists will perform a retrospective of Mikel’s extended career, playing the greatest hits, staples beloved by generations.

This spotlight at The Theatre at Saint Clement’s, dedicated to the performing arts of the Basque Country, offers a window to peek into and discover the energy and creative talent of an unconventional country; the land of Euskera, or Basque language. Located in the south of Europe, it extends from both sides of the Pyrenees to the Cantabrian Sea, and is the reflection of a proud culture that has managed to embrace both tradition and the avant-garde to offer new and unique perspectives. This program counts on the collaboration of the Delegation of the Basque Country to the United States and Etxepare Euskal Institutua, the Basque cultural institute.
