About Eve Zanni (voice)

Born into a musical family in California spanning several generations; Eve Zanni says....“My dad was in Vaudeville; playing harmonica with Borra Menevitch’s Harmonica Rascals, my brother is a bass player who has played with Canned Heat, Kaleidoscope, Amman Folk Ensemble, Brave Old World, to name a few, and music was always at the center of our lives.”

Performing frequently with her groups The Sweethots and Jazzmundo, Eve has also sung with jazz luminaries such as Benny Powell of The Count Basie Band, Norman Simmons, and The Cab Calloway Band Orchestra led by Chris Brooks, in venues from small village clubs, museums, churches, art galleries and boats to venues such as Birdland, The Rainbow Room, St. Regis Hotel, Lincoln Center, Aaron Davis Hall.

Teaching and performing jazz, vocal and instrumental music, and songwriting in New York City schools, Zanni also writes and performs music for dance and film and tours with her own ensembles in Europe, the Caribbean, and the U.S.

About Michael Howell (guitar)

Originally from Kansas City, MO, guitarist Michael Howell was inspired and taught by his father and by noted KC guitarist Herley Dennis. Michael has performed and recorded with his own group, as well as with a stellar list of musicians that includes Bobby Hutcherson, Hampton Hawes, Art Blakey, Gene Ammons, Woody Show, and George Duke. He recorded three solo albums, “Alone” on Catalyst Records, and “Looking Glass” and “In the Silence” on Milestone. He has toured with the Boys’ Choir of Harlem, and for five years toured with the great Dizzy Gillespie. He performed as a special guest at the Monterey Jazz Festival Guitar Summit, along with Joe Pass, Mundell Lowe, Jim Hall, and Lee Ritenour. Michael has performed on a number of television shows including the PBS show, “From Jump Street: The Story of Black Music,” hosted by Oscar Brown, Jr. Michael has taught at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, Lucy Moses School for Music, and JazzMobile Workshop.

About Jennifer Vincent (bass)

Bassist and cellist Jennifer Vincent have been an active force on the music scene in New York City for the past twenty years. She has played and toured with the likes of Jon Hendricks, Betty Carter, Bobby Sanabria, the Harry Whitaker Group, Ray Vega, Mo’ Guajiro, Doc Cheatham, Carmen Lundy, The Roberto Rodriguez Septet, and Regina Carter, to name a few. She also tours regularly with The Duke Ellington Orchestra and can be heard on Abbey Lincoln’s Verve release: Over the Years.

Ms. Vincent is equally comfortable in a wide variety of idioms including jazz, Latin jazz, and traditional Cuban music. Her teachers have included Ron Carter, Ed Bennett, Andy Gonzales, Buster Williams, and Cuban bass legend Cachaito Lopez of Buena Vista Social Club. Ms. Vincent’s current passion is the music and rhythms of West Africa and the Middle East.

About Violizzy (violin)

Violizzy aka Liz Taub is a fiddler/singer/songwriter with numerous bands (including Bluestone 739, The Val Kinzler Band, Steven Blane, Lucas Rotman, and Bob Tellefsen). Violizzy has earned her reputation as an eclectic artist, able to play any type of genre from country to classical. Her base is NYC but she performs all over the world, from Jerusalem, Israel to Vancouver, Canada. She is also a member of the UNSCR Symphony Orchestra and the Queer Urban Orchestra, showcasing her refined training as a violinist. As a singer-songwriter Liz has expanded her musical community, bringing together friends and other musicians to perform original Violizzy songs.
