Sundays at The Solera — Open Mic & Random Strangers Jam Session NYC
“Sundays at The Solera” is a new weekly event series starting November 13th hosted by the Sustainable United Neighborhoods (SUN) nonprofit, Chelsea Records NY, and Random Strangers Jam to support the cross-fertilization and creation of new ideas between the Williamsburg and Bushwick arts and music communities at The Solera: An Urban Concept Space — 203 Moore St, Brooklyn, NY. The partnership also includes Birdhaus Productions donating their live sound engineering talents each week.
Starting November 13th and running Sundays through December 18th from 5-9 pm, performers (poets, comedians, spoken word, acoustic musicians) are invited to claim free 5-minute slots for our 2-hour open mic from 5-7 pm hosted by Chelsea Records NY founder, Alyssa Martin.
Then, from 7-9 pm, musicians of all backgrounds are encouraged to join the return of the 2-hour Random Strangers Jam hosted by former Berklee drummer Skylar Demetri, where every 10 minutes, 2-3 members of our main band take a seat, 2-3 new musicians join the stage, and the new group of random strangers kicks off a fresh fully improvised jam segment ranging from funk and rock to RnB and blues.
Register today to claim your free open mic and jam slots — or simply reserve a general admission ticket to come out and enjoy the show! Beer and wine as well as light snacks will be available by donation.
