Hidayat Husain Khan — Website

A world-renowned musician, a maverick star player, sublime vocalist, a combination that is rare and unique. He belongs to a heritage that traces its roots back seven generations. Innovators and leaders of the most treasured lineage of Indian classical music. Son of the legendary, Ustad Vilayat Khan, globally acclaimed as the greatest of all sitarists.

A multifaceted artist, Jay’s music is at once reflective of his devotion to his Guru, the inimitable legend of the bansuri, Pt Hariprasad Chaurasia, as well as a diverse range of other musical influences. Jay’s initial training in Hindustani music was under Smt. Kum Sanyal (vocal) and later in bansuri under Pt. Ronu Majumdar and Pt. Raghunath Seth. Inspired to gain a deeper knowledge of both the gayaki ang (vocal style) as well as the tantrakari ang (stringed instrument style), Jay has also taken valuable guidance from Pt Vidyadhar Vyas (vocal) and Pt. Nayan Ghosh (sitar, tabla).

Avirodh Sharma — Website

One of the leading tabla players from the West Indies and the United States promoting the tradition of rhythm incorporates rhythmic elements from around the world with Indian Classical melodic and percussive overtones; making him extraordinary as a percussionist. Trained by his father Dr. Ravideen Ramsamooj (Managing Director of the East Indian Music Academy Inc.) in Tabla and Indian Classical Music, with his blessings incorporated influences from tabla virtuosos, Ustad Zakir Hussain and Pandit Anindo Chatterjee with Avirodh’s own research to evolve and display a unique aesthetic in rhythm.
