Concert “The Presence of the Past: Celebrating the Vision of Lenka Hlávková”

A tribute to Czech musicologist Lenka Hlávková, the concert features seven premieres that link music of the past with contemporary vision.

This concert is a re-creation of an idea proposed and carried out by Professor Hlávková in a series of concerts in Prague before her untimely death in a random shooting at Charles University in 2023 that resulted in many deaths and injuries.

World Premieres by:

  • Michael Beckerman, New Work (2026)
  • Jacob Beranek, Litanie (2026)
  • Louis Karchin, The Past as Present (2025)
  • Vasiliki Krimitza, ergo (2026)
  • Yoon-Ji Lee, Spring View (2026)
  • David Sanford Missa, Brevis (2026)
  • Nina C. Young, New Work (2026)
