Alissa Duryee — clavichord

An Das Klavier takes its title from the eponymous song by Friederike Pallas, after a poem by Englehard, featured in archival musical notebooks of the Pennsylvania Moravians. Its text portrays the intimate and cathartic experience of keyboard playing. This program combines works by European masters with those of the Bethlehem Moravians’ notebooks, in an effort to reconstruct that experience at the clavichord.
