Webinar “Making Language Tangible: Understanding Your English Learners Successfully”

Every teacher is becoming a language teacher as our English learner population continues to grow, making a greater impact on instruction delivery. Are you waiting for students to learn more English? Are you wondering how you could tell their individual language differences? Have you seen how they progress, but you just need a roadmap to the next best step?

In this edWebinar, attendees will analyze language proficiency using a probability quadrant to identify language skills that are measurable and observable. They will be able to immediately apply these aspects of productive and receptive language with their English learner groups.

This edWebinar will be of interest to PreK-12 teachers, especially English as a second language and foreign language instruction teachers, instructional coaches, language arts specialists, curriculum coordinators, and school leaders. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.

About the Presenter

Viviana Hall is a native of Colombia who started her career as an English learner herself. She has become a passionate voice representing minority students and a champion for true equity and intentional inclusion. Her scope of work prioritizes biliteracy development that capitalizes on both differences as well as similarities of alphabetical languages such as English and Spanish. As a subject matter expert, she has directed the development of effective Spanish literacy programs in the U.S. and abroad, which has afforded her many opportunities for speaking engagements leading teachers of language learners on the road to success.
