Winter Webinar “Farming Past and Present”
What can the past tell us about farming, and how relevant is this for the present?
This webinar will explore how archaeology can give us insight into past farming and what we know so far. We will specifically look at the study of animal (zooarchaeology) and plant (archaeobotany) remains, as well as biochemical methods (stable isotope analysis). This will be done by providing case studies in the UK and the Middle East.
More importantly, this webinar will discuss how useful this knowledge is for farming nowadays. Can we use the past for inspiration, or do we only need brand-new solutions for our current society?
This event is part of our Winter Webinar series. In winter, we know that every daylight hour on the farm counts. So, we’re bringing the learning to you in the evenings with our webinar series. Stay connected from your kitchen.
Until March 2025, we’ll meet online every week. Hear from the experts — farmers, researchers, and consultants. Each has been carefully chosen to shed light on the topics you asked for. Unpack everything from livestock in arable systems to farm carbon.
Webinars are free — included in your Pasture for Life membership. Just book a ticket to let us know you’re coming. Not yet a member? Email membership@pastureforlife.org.
