Webinar “How to Use Technology to Empower Student-Led Learning in Elementary School”

As we enter this new school year, take one thing off your plate by letting your students be the teacher! During this edWebinar, Nancy Penchev, Instructional Technology Coach, will share the various tech tools she uses along with tips on how to promote and encourage self-directed learning with her elementary students.

Attend this session to learn about:

  • How to use technology to support students in finding their passions
  • Tips for using student-led learning to promote technology use schoolwide
  • Insights from data on social-emotional learning from principals across the nation

This edWebinar will be of interest to teachers, STEM educators, librarians, and education technology leaders of the elementary grades. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.

About the Presenters

Nancy Penchev is a STEAM/design teacher and instructional technology coordinator. Her conference presentations include local, state, and international conferences. She has led a webinar on the Uncommon Test Prep for edWeb.net and Common Sense Media. She has been published in Teaching in the Middle magazine, Association of Middle-Level Educators, and ISTE point/counterpoint. Nancy founded Girls Building STEAM and is a local award winner for the National Council for Women in Information Technology and a 2019 honorable mention for the STEM Excellence award from ISTE. Nancy is an ambassador for Common Sense Media, Osmo, and Wonder Workshop. She is certified with Common Sense, Newsela, and Google Level One. She is a 2022-2023 Fulbright DA Vietnam participant.

Marisa Labadini is the growth marketing specialist at Unruly Studios. She is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and entrepreneurial studies. For two years, she was a peer advisor, where she guided first-year students through a mentorship program designed to cement the foundation of their college experiences. This has sparked her interest in providing students with resources that can lead them to success.
