Published: October 26, 2024; Author: Julia Sonrisa

 November 3, 2024    06:30 PM-07:30 PM EDT
Webinar “Working with Autistic People in a CVE Context”

Vicki is Head of Research at Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) and has almost 20 years of experience in autism, spanning diagnostic, research, education, well-being, employment, and criminal justice.

Autism is a neurodevelopmental variation that affects how individuals experience the world, communicate, and interact with others. Autism exists on a spectrum, meaning each autistic person has a unique set of strengths and challenges, which may include differences in sensory processing, communication styles, and social interaction.

Understanding the potential vulnerabilities that some individuals with autism may face is crucial for developing effective prevention and early intervention strategies and providing targeted support to address their unique needs.

After attending this webinar, you can expect to be able to:

  • Understand the autism spectrum, causes, and indicators
  • Consider notable strengths as well as difficulties
  • Understand where to go for a formal diagnosis or to seek additional support
  • Consider any potential relationship between radicalization and autism
