Webinar “Using music to improve mood and wellbeing in dementia care”
Whether you’re listening to The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, or even children rehearsing for a school concert, music influences our emotions and moods.
For those living with dementia, music can be a powerful tool to help them reconnect and find themselves again.
In this exclusive webinar from Sweet Pea Care, we are joined by Pam Ribbeck, the Communities Officer at Playlist For Life. Pam will discuss the benefits of using music therapy for those affected by dementia.
Pam will answer carers’ questions and provide practical tips on how to incorporate music into daily routines through a personalized playlist of favorite songs.
A personalized playlist is an affordable and unique tool that can bring joy and highlight the individuality of those with dementia.
From managing symptoms of dementia to strengthening connections with family and carers, a playlist offers numerous benefits:
- Reducing anxiety
- Improving mood
- Making difficult tasks more manageable
- Evoking memories that can help families and caregivers connect

Playlist for Life is a music and dementia charity. Our vision is to provide everyone with dementia a unique, personalized playlist and to educate everyone who loves or cares for them on how to use it.
The charity was founded in 2013 by writer and broadcaster Sally Magnusson, who was inspired by the death of her mother, Mamie, who had dementia. Over the past two decades, scientific research has shown that listening to a personalized playlist can improve the lives of those living with dementia. Listening to music that is personally meaningful offers numerous psychological benefits, making it accessible to anyone.
