PMA Webinar “Improving the Recovery Experience for Disaster Survivors”
Those who have lived through a natural disaster face one of the most difficult experiences they’ve ever encountered: attending to their families’ most basic needs while experiencing trauma, stress, and multiple bureaucratic processes. In these critical moments, survivors expect the government to step up.
During this webinar, you will hear about three ongoing projects within the Recovering from a Disaster portfolio:
- Building a trauma-informed care approach
- Calculating a more holistic burden estimate
- Streamlining disaster assistance processes
This 60-minute virtual discussion will feature remarks by:
- Loren DeJonge Schulman, Associate Director for Performance and Personnel Management at Office of Management and Budget
- Aaron Stienstra, Life Experience Program Lead at Office of Management and Budget
- Siddharth Muchhal, Recovering from a Disaster Life Experience Portfolio Lead at Office of Management and Budget
- Melinda Baldwin, PhD, LCSW, “Building a trauma-informed care approach” Project Lead at Office of Management and Budget
- Katrina Langer, “Streamlining disaster assistance processes” Project Lead at United States Digital Service
