This one-hour free webinar is for anyone with an interest in finding out more about the new Preventing Infection in social care settings app developed in partnership between the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC), NHS Education for Scotland (NES), and the Digital Health & Care Innovation Centre.

This new practice support app is for all staff working in social care settings such as care homes and people’s own homes.

The webinar will be of particular interest to frontline workers and staff with responsibility for infection prevention and control (IPC).

The webinar will include information on:

• How to access and navigate the app
• The content of the app
• How to provide feedback
• other resources which might be helpful.

There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and for discussion.

The purpose of the app is to support staff with accessible, practical, and current evidence-based guidance on preventing infection and control in social care settings.

This app aims to support and build on:

• good practice
• ‘in the moment’ guidance for staff in their day-to-day work
• staff learning and continuing professional development.

The app is freely available as a web-based resource and can be downloaded on mobile devices including phones and tablets.
