Webinar “Building Math Talk for Sense Making in the Classroom”

Transform from teacher-focused instruction to student-to-student discussion monitored and supported by teachers. Learn how Math Talk enables students from all backgrounds to learn ambitious levels of mathematics with understanding, fluency, and confidence.

In this edWebinar, Dr. Karen Fuson will outline how to build nurturing classrooms that increase understanding with Math Talk communities. Plus, well-tested classroom activity structures will help create Math Talk inquiry environments and encourage student discussion of problem-solving. Recommended by the National Research Council reports and emphasized by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Standards, these approaches will help schools start building Math Talk classrooms right away for all students.

This edWebinar will be of interest to PreK-12 teachers and school and district leaders. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.
