Webinar “Future-Ready Students: How to Develop and Measure Higher-Order Skills”

How can we develop and measure the essential, higher-order skills that students need to achieve academic and career success? These vital skills — including critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication — reflect what students can do, not just what they know. Mastery of these skills gives students the ability to learn and apply knowledge — applicable throughout grade school, to any field of study in college, and to any future career.

In this edWebinar, you’ll learn:

  • How professional development can help teachers nurture the growth of higher-order skills in their students
  • How to transform instruction to go above and beyond traditional content areas, and how to embed measurement of essential skills into the course content
  • Why essential skills are important for today’s secondary education leaders, as evidenced by Portrait of a Graduate initiatives
  • Why secondary, post-secondary institutions and employers value mastery of higher-order thinking skills

The participants will also share data from more than 120,000 students internationally who have participated in CAE’s Collegiate Learning Assessment (CLA+), a performance-based assessment of critical thinking and written communication.

Don’t miss this informative edWebinar, packed with actionable insights, to help students become flexible, successful adults. This edWebinar will be of interest to K-12 teachers, school and district leaders, education technology leaders, and school counselors. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.
