Webinar “Evidence in the Era of NGSS”

Published: February 13, 2023; Author: Julia Sonrisa

 February 21, 2023    03:00 PM-04:00 PM EDT
Webinar “Evidence in the Era of NGSS”

How do we support students in building evidence-based explanations of phenomena? Join this edWebinar to experience how a multimodal approach allows students to gather evidence from a variety of sources and grapple with phenomena and real-world problems like scientists do. We will unpack structures from the K-8 Amplify Science curriculum and consider how a deep understanding of NGSS can support you in making principled pedagogical decisions.

This edWebinar will be of interest to K-12 teachers, school and district leaders, and education technology leaders. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.

About the Presenter

Leslie Stenger has been on the Professional Learning team with The Learning Design Group at UC Berkeley’s Lawrence Hall of Science since 2017. In addition to supporting teachers and leaders in implementing Amplify Science, she has been facilitating and designing experiences that build the capacity of instructional leaders to provide high-quality professional learning that supports the implementation of NGSS-designed instructional materials. Before working at the Lawrence, Leslie earned a BS degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University, obtained her master’s and credential in science and mathematics education from UC Berkeley, and spent 19 years working in the Berkeley Public Schools as a middle school math and science teacher, a math coach, and a middle school assistant principal.
