Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming more and more a part of education. ChatGPT can be used to write an essay, or NightCafe to create art. What does this new world of AI look like? And how does it connect to digital citizenship?

In this edWebinar, attendees will learn more about the AI landscape and how this affects copyright and intellectual property. They’ll also learn ways AI tools can supplement existing learning and teach digital citizenship concepts and support ISTE and state computer science standards. Take a deeper dive into the growing world of AI and what this means in policy, legislation, critical thinking, media literacy, and more.

About the Presenters

Suzanne Judson-Whitehouse is the director of licensure & credentialing at the Collaborative for Educational Services. There, she oversees the Teacher Licensure and Administrative Leadership programs and is part of the CES ISTE Certification Team. She represents CES and is an active participant in the Diverse Teacher Workforce Coalition and is the site coordinator for Reading Recovery in Western Massachusetts. Her interests lie in the fields of blended learning, technology integration in K-12 schools, maker spaces and creativity in education, design thinking, games and gamification, and adult pedagogy. She has facilitated workshops and professional learning communities in history, literacy, K-12 libraries, and technology integration.

Casey Daigle is the digital learning manager for the Collaborative for Educational Services (CES), where she works with PreK-12 teachers, administrators, and edtech leaders across Massachusetts to explore how tech can transform teaching and learning, better connect us as humans, and create more equity and inclusion. Her personalized approach to professional development supports learners to explore possibilities and build confidence as they discover how Google tools and a little imagination can revolutionize their work. Casey spends a lot of time engaging educators about makerspaces, personalized learning, and what learning feels like when it happens online. Additionally, she has worked extensively with design thinking, systems design, and facilitation. She is an ISTE Certification Authorized Provider, ISTE Certified Educator, Google Certified Trainer, and whimsical weirdo.

Carrie Rogers-Whitehead is the founder of Digital Respons-Ability, a mission-based company that teaches digital citizenship to tens of thousands of parents, students, and educators across the world. Before starting Digital Respons-Ability, Carrie worked for about a decade in public libraries where she regularly put on gaming events.

Carrie regularly writes, speaks, and researches digital citizenship and education. She is the award-winning author of several academic books including Digital Citizenship: Teaching Strategies and Practice From the Field (Rowman & Littlefield, 2019); Becoming a Digital Parent: A Practical Guide to Help Families Navigate Technology (Routledge, 2020); and The 3 Ms of Fearless Digital Parenting: Proven Tools to Help You Raise Smart and Savvy Online Kids (Skyhorse Publishing, 2021). Carrie regularly speaks and writes on technology, digital parenting, and gaming. She regularly plays video and board games with her family. With her husband, she writes a blog with game reviews for parents at digital-parenting.com. Carrie is currently playing Kingdom Death: Monster, but that may change any week.
