Tour “Connecting Greenways in Bloomfield”
Explore the history of the Morris Canal Greenway and New Jersey’s Newest State Park, formerly known as the Essex-Hudson Greenway.

Participants on this approximately 3-mile walk will explore the future connection between the Morris Canal Greenway and the Bloomfield segment of New Jersey’s Newest State Park, formerly known as the Essex-Hudson Greenway.
The walk will follow the Morris Canal Greenway from Wrights Field to JFK Drive near Beach Street. Participants will then walk on the future Bloomfield segment of New Jersey’s Newest State Park to return to Wrights Field.
Historic photos will be provided to view at historic sites along the way.
The walk includes a mix of paved sidewalks and an unmaintained gravel railroad bed. Some areas may involve passing through tall grass or other vegetation. Participants will also travel through a wooded section requiring climbing a moderate slope.
