Inwood Library Film Screening “But I’m A Cheerleader” (1999)
Megan, a high school cheerleader, is sent to a conversion therapy camp by her family after they suspect she’s a lesbian. At the camp, she meets other LGBTQ+ teens undergoing the same “treatment,” including Graham, a rebellious young woman with whom she develops a romantic connection. As Megan embraces her true identity, she and her new friends challenge the camp’s oppressive methods, leading to a humorous and heartwarming journey of self-acceptance and love.
