Directed by Fred Schepisi and based on John le Carré’s novel, “The Russia House” is a Cold War-era romantic thriller starring Sean Connery as Barley Blair, a disillusioned British publisher drawn into espionage. When a Soviet scientist (Klaus Maria Brandauer) smuggles out a manuscript containing state secrets to Blair through a mysterious Russian woman, Katya (Michelle Pfeiffer), British intelligence forces Blair to cooperate in their investigation.

As Blair becomes entangled in the dangerous world of spies and deception, he also grows emotionally attached to Katya, complicating his loyalties. Torn between duty and love, Blair must navigate a high-stakes game of trust and betrayal, where the truth is as elusive as the motives of those around him.
