Solo Art Exhibition “A Map Won’t Help” by Amy Tenenouser

Created during a period of disruption and distance, this body of work explores the space between external reality and interior experience.

Working at the intersection of painting and photography, the artist brings together shared, recognizable imagery with the intimacy of the brushstroke, allowing both mediums to retain their distinct voices.

Rather than seeking seamless integration, the work embraces the layered nature of perception—what we see, what we remember, and what we bring to an image. Familiar yet open-ended, the pieces invite viewers to pause, reflect, and engage with the subtle tensions between memory, presence, and interpretation.
