Art Exhibition: A Celebration of Inspirational Artist Professor

A warm invitation is extended to the general public to attend the upcoming solo art exhibition, part of a doctoral dissertation, and contributing to the completion of a Doctorate in Education in College Teaching (Ed.D.C.T.). The exhibition will feature 16 large portrait paintings.

The exhibition will be on view from October 27 to November 20, 2025, at the Macy Art Gallery, Columbia University’s Teachers College.

This milestone in the doctoral journey will be celebrated with an opening reception on Thursday, October 30, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Attendees are asked to sign up using the following link by October 28th, 2025, to enter Teachers College and to bring their ID on the day of the show.

About the Artist:

Ligel Lambert is an interdisciplinary artist, designer, educator, and entrepreneur whose creative practice spans painting, collage, printmaking, assemblage, and sculpture. He currently serves as an adjunct professor at Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design and as an adjunct lecturer at Hunter College, New York City.

Originally from Cap-Haïtien, Haiti, Lambert became a U.S. citizen in 2003 while serving in the United States Marine Corps. His global experiences living and working in Japan, South Korea, China, and the U.S. deeply inform his artistic approach.

He holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Art and Painting from RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia (2013), an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of West Florida (2021), and a BFA in Graphic Design (2011). His collaborations include artists such as Wycliffe Gordon, Howard R. Paul, and Bob James, and his work has been exhibited internationally in New York City, Savannah, Suzhou, Melbourne, Jacksonville, Virginia Beach, and Raleigh. Lambert’s artwork is included in private and public collections, including RMIT University, the Tisdell Cottage Foundation, the Coastal Jazz Association, the City of Jacksonville, and the personal collections of Wycliffe Gordon and Kasseem Dean (Swizz Beatz).
