Photo Exhibition Opening: Desire Lines and Daylighting
Design Trust for Public Space, in partnership with Pier 57, presents “Desire Lines and Daylighting” by photographer and filmmaker Nathan Kensinger, a multimedia exhibition documenting local efforts to protect and expand access to New York’s waterways.
Focusing on waterfront communities in The Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens, a mix of photographs and interviews uncovers grassroots initiatives to reclaim and restore coastlines that have been polluted and cut off by industrialization.
The work will be on display at Pier 57’s public indoor living room space in Hudson River Park from June 18th, 2025, to July 16th, 2025 (on the ground floor, past Market 57)
Join us for opening night with the photographer on June 18th! RSVP to let us know you’re coming. Learn more about the exhibition and the Photo Urbanism program on the website.
The Photo Urbanism Fellowship is made possible by the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs and the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
