Still Life Opening Reception
“Still Life” is an exploration of memory and meaning by way of what was worn. A sartorial scrapbook of sorts, each piece invites viewers to self-reflect as they re/consider their closets.
In conjunction with this exhibit, a selection of clothes and accessories, some featured in the artworks, will be available to purchase.
Join us for the opening reception on January 9th at Neighbor, a convivial gallery and community space in the heart of Chelsea. See the start of the show, meet the artist, or just partake in refreshments while warming up on a wintry Thursday evening.
The exhibit runs through January 31st.
About the Artist:
Carolyn Louth grew up in a small town near New Orleans and pursued her passion for the arts with a BFA from Louisiana State University. She then moved to Atlanta where she joined the creative team at HowStuffWorks before leaping to New York as an independent designer in 2005. Whether immersed in a thrift store setting or a collaborative effort, she enjoys making connections between seemingly unrelated ideas, items, and entities. Carolyn has moved eleven times in Manhattan and currently lives in Harlem with her husband, child, and sweet old dog.
