Join us for the Opening Reception for Jess Levey’s exhibition, Second Spring, at Ofrendafest/QCA. Through a combination of photography, video and social engagement, Second Spring aims to foster a more inclusive and supportive society that honors the wisdom of the aging woman by reducing the stigma surrounding the menopausal transition, encouraging conversations about menopause, empowering women to embrace this phase of life, and challenging ageist stereotypes in Western culture especially as it pertains to the emphasis on a woman’s fertility and sexuality for her worth in society. This project also explores menopause’s connection to themes of emergence and surrender mirrored in the natural world.
