Exhibition “Faces of Fantasy”
The Tompkins Corners Cultural Center will host an exhibition called “Faces of Fantasy,” showcasing the surreal portraits of Michael Garland, a New York Times bestselling author and illustrator.
Michael’s work has been featured in various art publications, including American Artist and Print and Communication Arts. He has received numerous prestigious awards for his illustrations, most recently at the Mark Twain Library Annual Art Show, the Great Hollows Art Show, and the Society of Illustrators Annual Members Show. His artwork can be found in private and corporate collections across the country.
In addition to his fine art, which is featured in “Faces of Fantasy,” Michael is internationally recognized as the author and illustrator of over 40 children’s books. Some of his best-known works include the award-winning “Get Off My Lawn” and “Widgets Go Walking.” His children’s book, “Miss Smith’s Incredible Storybook,” won the California and Delaware State Reading Awards. Michael has also illustrated over fifty books by celebrity authors such as James Patterson and Gloria Estefan.
