Exhibition “Of What Remains”

Of What Remains, a pop-up exhibition gathers emerging young artists to explore the tension between self-preservation and self-destruction. Influenced by their interdisciplinary backgrounds, the selected artists negotiate the existential questions surrounding memory, debt, and absence. They call for us to consider the markers of time on and off the body while exhibiting the weight of the past in the present. Here the structure, form, and material of the work equates to meaning—rather than information about the artist’s intention. This exhibition engages the selected artists’ practice by way of their consideration of the felt aesthetics of experiencing art.

Sponsored by Painted Tongue Productions, we invite audiences to an immersive experience where touching the artwork is encouraged. Of What Remains seeks to challenge traditional notions of display within cinema and gallery spaces. These themes are presented by way of site-specific installations, boundary-defying artworks, and experimental dance.
