Lily Annabelle discovered her drawing talents a few years ago while living in San Francisco when a doodle in bed on a chilly Friday evening turned into an outpour of emotions for her home New York. Since then, drawing has become a passion and a way to channel her longing and love for New York while living away.

Her work, often described as “modern nostalgia”, is an examination of life in New York, and the sentiments that lie behind its façades. Her illustrations challenge the transitory nature of this town and preserve the heartwarming moments that define one’s time in New York, long or short. Cozy and unassuming, New York in her eyes is one that is stripped of intimidation and angst; she lets her audience see that beneath the surface, its people are neighborly, comforting, and full of life.

Lily Annabelle relocated back to New York in 2019 after 4 years in San Francisco and Europe.
