Exhibition “When Nature Speaks: A National Showcase of ProjectArt Resident Artists”
When Nature Speaks: A National Showcase of ProjectArt Resident Artists invites the audience to investigate nature as an anchor, a guide, and a language in our ever-changing social structure. As such, this collection of artwork embodies this universal experience.
ProjectArt (“PA”) brings art and literacy together in their library classrooms year-round and empowers youth, emerging artists, and communities through partnerships with public libraries in multiple cities. ProjectArt Resident Artists teach free, after-school art classes to children in underserved areas while developing new artwork informed by their experience working within the community and utilizing library resources.
In keeping with our mission, this exhibition brings together the work of New York City, Miami, and Detroit-based ProjectArt Resident Teaching Artists in a first-ever national exhibition. The works explore the transformation of self, environment, growth, and detritus, so we may more clearly reflect on our identities and realities.
