3 Lots: Photo Exhibition Opening + Artist Talk with Elliott Golden
The Design Trust for Public Space in partnership with the Brooklyn Public Library will be opening a new photo exhibition by local photographer Elliott Golden in collaboration with the East New York Community Land Trust.
“3 Lots,” is a case study of three vacant lots in East New York. The final exhibition is a combination of mixed-media collages and photographs that document the distinct, but related, histories of the vacancies, their current condition, and the people and organizations advocating for more equitable and restorative uses of the land. In celebration of the 3 Lots exhibition opening, please join us at the New Lots Library to view the exhibition and meet the artist.

More about ENYCLT: East New York and Brownsville residents mobilized to form the East New York Community Land Trust (ENYCLT) at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic to take community ownership of land and to stop displacement and achieve self-determination for low-to-moderate income Black and brown residents. ENYCLT is now in the midst of a multi-pronged community organizing strategy to take community control of land so it can be used to best serve the community’s wishes and needs — through deeply affordable housing, community centers, parks, art spaces, health clinics, and businesses that offer residents high-quality jobs.
