Exhibition “Lifted Showings”

Lifted Showings is a rotating, 420-friendly art exhibition featuring the most flown Tri-State area artists presented by The Hussle Lab.

New Glitch City, by The Visceral Glitch, is our third artist featured in a series of solo shows by local creators who love and support the cannabis space. Please joins us for the 420-friendly, opening reception on Sunday, February 12th, 3-7 PM. Light refreshments will be available for purchase.

The Visceral Glitch is the alter ego of Daniel Kramer, a digital video artist living in Brooklyn.

In 2018, he began a daily discipline of glitching images of the world around him. The process begins with original photos of unusual shapes, colors, and textures. He then pushes and pulls them through a series of apps on his phone. Pixels are slammed into each other creating distorted and surreal shapes as RGB layers are ripped apart revealing a broken landscape. The videos are created in one session, posted, and never touched again, representing a fleeting moment in time.

The Japanese concept of Wabi-Sabi is an important inspiration for The Visceral Glitch. The philosophy celebrates nature’s imperfections. Daniel moves this concept into the realm of digital creation: art, like nature, should be raw and messy—the imperfections revealing an unseen beauty.

As you view these singularly visceral creations, he hopes that they both disrupt your comfort zone and stimulate your mind.
