Upsilon Gallery | New York is pleased to present Gathering, Gildersleeve’s first solo exhibition with Upsilon, bringing together selected paintings built around a simple impulse: to be inside the space she creates.

Allison Gildersleeve is a Brooklyn-based contemporary artist working primarily in oil painting. Her colourful visual language is layered and deals with memory, place, and domestic life, which she paints into compositions that move fluidly between landscape, interior, and abstraction.

Twice awarded the NYFA Fellowship in Painting, with a museum solo at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum and a studio residency at the Sharpe-Walentas Program, her practice has the kind of depth that accrues quietly, over time.
