Ihu Exhibition
The show runs from Nov 8-14th with the opening night on Nov 8th at One Art Space in NYC.
IHÚ:
the artist attempts, through this exhibit, to share his perceptions and observations about individual and collective cultural identity. How do multiculturalism and globalization enhance or inhibit identity? What internal conflicts does the individual face when navigating the complexities of self-identification? How willing are we to admit and manage conflicts that arise when different cultural sensitivities overlap? This exhibit, rather than give answers, (1)challenges the viewer to confront these myriads of questions and
(2)tries to build in the viewer a hope that whatever our identities, we can all coexist in peace or at least intolerance.
Ihu means ( Face ) in the Igbo language.
