“Speak No Evil” (2024) is a psychological horror-thriller directed by James Watkins, serving as a remake of the 2022 Danish film of the same name. The story follows a British family, parents Rupert and Emily and their daughter Rosie, who befriend a Dutch family, Patrick and Karin and their son Abel, during a holiday in Tuscany. Months later, the Dutch family invites them to their remote countryside home for a weekend getaway.

Initially charmed by their hosts’ hospitality, the British family soon begins to notice increasingly unsettling behavior, from subtle social transgressions to outright psychological manipulation. As tensions rise and boundaries are crossed, the visit takes a dark and horrifying turn, forcing the British family to confront their politeness and passivity in the face of escalating threats. “Speak No Evil” is a chilling exploration of cultural differences, social norms, and the dangers of failing to speak up when faced with evil.
