Bodies of Time is an upcoming group presentation of selected laureates of the Oskar ДЊepan Award, the leading Slovak prize for contemporary art.

The Bodies of Time explores time as a material quantity. Although modern humans attempt to tame time by abstracting, systematizing, categorizing, and dividing it into the present, past, and future, into time zones, hours, minutes, and seconds, time remains a force resistant to control, surpassing human comprehension. It is stored in rocks, animals, bodies, waters, and the world.

Artists:

Petra Feriancová (@petra_feriancova) — COC 2010 laureate

The exhibition will run until April 13, 2025.

The exhibition is organized by the Foundation — Contemporary Art Centre, co-organized by the Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in New York, and partners with Residency Unlimited and Trust for Mutual Understanding.

Supported by the Slovak Arts Council (Fond na Podporu Umenia) and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic.

The Oskar ДЊepan Award (Ceny Oskara ДЊepana) is Slovakia’s leading contemporary art prize, dedicated to supporting emerging visual artists under 40. It provides a platform for bold new voices, fostering creative dialogue and international recognition.
