Webinar “Succeeding at Virtual Learning: Lessons Learned to Improve Student Outcomes”
If you read today’s headlines, you’d think all online learning throughout the pandemic was a disaster. The reality is schools’ implementation of online learning varied dramatically as did student results. Among all the negative results and press, there were several programs that excelled and are bringing forward lessons learned to the many districts and schools continuing to support full- and part-time online learning student populations.
Join Dr. Brian Mott, Executive Director of Virtual Virginia, and Dr. Ryan Fuller, Director of the Cobb Virtual Academy, to discuss their virtual learning lessons learned before, during, and after the pandemic. Explore how years of experience, the proper curriculum and systems, and flexible instructional modalities led to stronger outcomes and several new learnings now being deployed for ongoing virtual student support.

About the Presenters
Dr. Brian Mott joined Virtual Virginia in 2007 as an instructor prior to moving into program administration. Dr. Mott has worked across a wide array of domains including curriculum and instruction, digital learning, instructional design, and innovative leadership. For two decades, he has worked to design, develop, implement, and administer online learning initiatives and expand K—12 learning opportunities across Virginia. He received a Ph.D. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute (Virginia Tech).
Dr. Ryan Fuller has been a leader and advocate in the online learning space for over 15 years. He currently serves as the Director of Cobb Virtual Academy, the student online learning program of the Cobb County School District.
