Webinar “Develop Math Understanding by Fostering a Problem-Solving Classroom Environment”

The best way to bring competency-based and meaningful learning into the elementary math classroom is to create a problem-solving environment. What traits define a good math problem? How can we foster rich class discussions? What manipulatives should we use? How can we manage differentiated instruction within the same problem? In this edWebinar, we will discuss 10 practices to foster a problem-solving classroom environment that develops meaningful math understanding and explore them through different examples of rich math activities.

Attendees will:

  • Have the chance to face math activities as students
  • Discuss as teachers all the learning opportunities beneath the activities
  • Expand their understanding of best practices for learning math through discovery
  • Learn ideas on how to help students develop meaningful math skills while learning the curricular content

This edWebinar will be of interest to elementary teachers and school and district leaders. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.
