Webinar “Organising Inclusive EAL Provision in International Schools”

This webinar explores what inclusive practice looks like in the context of international school EAL provision. We will identify different dimensions of inclusivity within EAL provision and look at practical ways each size can be developed. The talk will go beyond classroom strategies to outline a whole-school approach to including plurilingual learners (and staff) in school life. We will discuss different models of EAL provision and consider their impact on inclusivity, look at the implications for the curriculum, and examine how inclusive practice might inform staff development and recruitment.

Biography: 

Tom Beakes joined The Bell Foundation in 2020. Tom has worked in language education since 2003 and has taught in China, Japan, Ecuador, and North Africa. His main areas of interest are teaching young learners, international education, and teacher development. He holds an MA in anthropological linguistics and are CELTA and DELTA qualified. He has worked as a teacher trainer in the UK and abroad and is a regular speaker at English Language Teaching conferences such as IATEFL.
